How Can You Help?
...Can you get PSICAN it's bus?...
As stated elsewhere on this site, the buses are being acquired by Matthew Didier, one of the two chairs of the group, as a personal project. With the one bus, comes two others...
One he wishes to give to "The Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada" without restraints with it's use... they've agreed to accept it.
The other he wishes to give to PSICAN for the reasons mentioned on the other pages.
The last one, admittedly, would be for himself and his family... and since it's a "buy three for the price of two" deal from the seller, he's calling it a "finders fee"... a little non-altruistic, but he did find 'em!
Now, Matthew is also the first to admit he cannot afford to buy the buses at all at the moment... in fact, he has many issues that must be dealt with first... but since this "deal" on the buses may be short lived, he needs to act fast.
In short, he needs $51,000.00 USD... a heck of a chunk of change!
Now, here's the thing... after a DISASTROUS article in the Toronto Star Newspaper (Toronto is where PSICAN and himself are located) referring to an original page about this as "panhandlers" and using the headline "Buddy can you spare a bus?", this site/these pages are NOT asking for money. Nope. They're not.
They are simply telling you about the goals and the dreams... and the uses...
There's no "PayPal" donation button... no address to send money to... no begging. Period.
If you WANT to help, e-mail Matthew directly at [email protected] and if not, PLEASE ignore this site... We thank you for your time and for reading through it... and perhaps, we've inspired you to think of ways to "recycle" and old vehicle into something good and useful.
What this site WILL be otherwise is a page devoted to our attempts to come up with ways to finance the acquisition of the buses... especially before they are torn apart to be "refitted" as restaurants or coffee bars (making them difficult if not impossible to preserve in the future) or worse yet, being scrapped altogether... the fate of many of the RLH buses.
One idea he has had is here on this page... If you click on the Menu Bar at the left on "Kooky Scheme! Advertise across North America on our buses!" you'll find one of the ideas... a good one that MIGHT just work...
So, ONLY IF YOU WANT TO, if you're interested in helping TWO non-profit groups and making one family happy, we'd appreciate it... you'd really be helping PSICAN a lot!
