What Happens When A Blogger Dies?

Maybe it was the article I read earlier on Blogger Depression or maybe it is a bit of the end of the summer blues kicking in a bit early? Either way I started to feel a bit morbid this afternoon, and the question of what happens to a blog after the blogger dies started swimming in my head.

If something were to happen to me hubby has the keys so to speak to all of my blogs, and as a fellow blogger I know that he would at least put up an announcement letting the regular readers know that I had passed on, but what of bloggers that perhaps do not have this option?

I know that if one of my faves stopped blogging I would wonder what happened, and with the friendships I have built some with people on the other end of the planet I would worry, and I would want to know.

I wonder if maybe in this blogging age it might be a good idea to leave passwords, email contacts in a will?

I know there are services that send out e-mail for you after you die. Perhaps someone will start a 'blog from beyond' service

Dave -> That may not be a bad idea at all. I used to correspond with a lady in California about 10 years ago. She abruptly stopped and I had no idea why. We were on a forum together, and her brother popped in one day to say she had passed on, and thanked us for being a friend to his Sis who was house bound in the last years of her life. Had he not done that we may have never known.
