Wordless Wednesday - "Tuesday Edition"

A computer-generated depiction of the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 which buried Pompeii. I was inspired to post this by last weekend's episode of Dr. Who.

Happy Wordless Wednesday! And Thank You For Stopping By!

That had to be just a nightmare. My daughter's class studied this briefly, and all the kids drew these pictures of horrified people. It really captures the imagination. I would love to see this place in person some day.

It will happen again and probably the deathh toll will be far worse.

I envy my dad though. He was based in Italy in WWII. He saw Vesuvius's last ewruption from the cockpit of a Mosquito

I've always been fascinated by Pompeii. Someday I'm going to go there.

That's a sobering sight, since I live on an island where a volcano (Kilauea) has been continuously erupting since 1983.

Happy WW.

Very cool picture! It definitely gives a sense of what it may have been like. I'm really glad I don't live near a volcano. ;o)
