The Pointed Sword
The image you see above is a photograph of some graffiti I came across this past Canada Day. Normally I despise tagging, which looks like trashy scribbles, and usually costs the taxpayers for the clean-up. However, this in my opinion is art. For the purpose of this meme I am dubbing my photo "The Pointed Sword" ![]()
Happy photo hunting, and thanks so much for stopping by!
Cheers!

I was searching my mind for a good idea for this week's TT and I couldn't help, but realise it falls into the same week as both Canada Day, and the U.S.A Independence Day holidays. Since I am a Canadian I thought I would list some things that absolutely define Canada. Here goes:
1. Maple Leaf
2. Hockey
Lord Stanley's Cup
3. Our Canadian flag
4. The Beaver
5. Canadarm
6. Canada Day
7. Peacekeeping
8. Pierre Trudeau
9. Universal health care
10. Niagara Falls
11. The Rocky Mountains
12. Canadian Constitution/ Charter of Rights/Bill of Human Rights
13. Tim Hortons
Happy TT, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of my American readers a very happy, and safe Fourth of July long weekend!
I will be away most of Thursday, but will reply asap to all comments left here, and visit your own TT lists as soon as I get back to my computer.
Cheers!

If you heart being a Mom blogger then you have got to check out this blog called Mom Colors that I was looking at this morning. The blogger is providing bracelets that have specific messages about being a Mom blogger like the example I have added above. When worn not only are you telling the world that you are a proud blogger, but it is a great little conversation piece to boot. My bracelet color is definitely red!

One of my fave summer time activities when the kids were little was taking them to the Sand Banks Provincial Park. It is all sandy beach for as far as the eyes can see in any direction. ![]()

The Kiddo & Me
And the kids just loved playing in the sand, building castles, and splashing in the lake. I will always be a beach bum at heart, but I do miss those days when the kids were small.

The Kiddo
Hard to believe the Kiddo will be 13 years old in a couple of months!
Happy H.O.T. day and thanks so much for stopping by! And to my Canadian visitors, Happy Canada Day!!! ![]()

Today I decided to feature a pic taken last Fall of Maya the kitten. While she has grown quite a bit, (and I will post more pics of her in the future) she has earned the nickname "Badly Kitten" and it has stuck. All ways fun & games with a kitten in the house. ![]()
Thank you for stopping by, and have a great week ahead!

My Niece
My entry is up a little bit early for this week. That is because it is a long weekend for most of us here in Canada. Our Canada Day celebrations are July 1st, and between now and then I'm not certain how much time I'll have to be able to blog. I will however make certain that I visit all the bloggers who leave comments here. ![]()
The photo above is of my 7 year old niece. She is being bathed by the shine of the setting sun whose very bright rays are streaming in through a window.
Happy Photo Hunting!

I want to go to New York City cause they tell me it is the place to be yah! Or at least so the song goes.
Actually I have been to New York City many, many times. My cousins all live along the U.S east coast so when visiting our family would always fly in via New York, and use it as the jumping off point for us to then rent cars, and go visit family that unfortunately we did not have the benefit to see as often as we would have liked to see them.
Of course when we would arrive in New York we would always end up staying for a few days as my Mom was very much into theatre, and shopping, and let me tell you there are plenty of things to do in New York, and we were never bored, especially us kids.
I have not been in awhile now, but I have been working on my busman to take a family trip there. I have even heard that they now have there very own Madame Tussauds like the one in London!
I would love to take some of the fabulous tours offered by Trusted Tours & Attractions, and they are not just limited to New York City. They offer online travel guides to 23 of the best travel destinations in the USA. Say you are looking for things to do in Los Angeles (a city I have never been to yet, but would LOVE to go!) just look up the travel guide on their site for L.A and you'll get all the info you need for sightseeing in that city.
The company also offers a free travel newsletter and if you sign-up for it right now you'll be entered into a contest to win a hand held G.P.S ![]()
Where do you want to go? And what would you like to see?
Cheers!

I am not as stressed out these days as I used to be when I was working at that "awful place" but I will keep these lines handy for when I am having a bad day. Here goes......
1. Don't bother me. I'm living happily ever after.
2. I started out with nothing & still have most of it left.
3. If I want to hear the pitter-patter of little feet, I'll put shoes
on my cat.
4. And your cry baby whiny-assed opinion would be...?
5. I'm not crazy, I've just been in a very bad mood for 30 years.
6. Sarcasm is just one more service we offer.
7. Whatever kind of look you were going for, you missed.
8. Earth is full. Go home.
9. I'm just working here till a good fast-food job opens up.
10. Chaos, panic, & disorder -- my work here is done.
11. Is it time for your medication or mine?
12. Stress is when you wake up screaming & you realize you haven't fallen asleep yet.
13. How many times do I have to flush before you go away?
Hoping you won't have to use any of these anytime soon, and thank you for stopping by! Happy Thursday Thirteen!
Cheers!

This whimsical little fellow is part of the donated art at Mount Pleasant cemetery here in Toronto. Matthew, and I visited for Father's Day as his Dad is buried there. It is a lovely peaceful place.

For today's H.O.T theme I thought I'd post about one of the oldest "lines" ever....the "pick-up line"...and as you will see not always do they result in a smack to the head!

See....the pick-up line really does go way back, and thankfully for the survival of our species they do work on occasion ![]()
Happy H.O.T. day and thanks so much for stopping by ![]()

I was tagged by Darla to do the page 123 meme. The rules are pretty simple, and here goes:
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people, and acknowledge who tagged you.
Currently I am reading Life On Homicide, by retired Toronto police chief William McCormack, and that just happens to be the book on my desk.
From the chapter entitled Getting Away With Murder:
"Dr. Jaffe told the investigators that bleeding from the ear is consistent with drowning.
The clothes that Olive wore when she died, the bloodstained bedspread, and pillowcase, and numerous other exhibits were taken to the crime lab for analysis. The following day, blood specialist Elgin Brown went with detectives to the scene to search for any other blood-related clues that might shed light on the investigation. Nothing conclusive was found."
I know pretty grisly stuff for a Monday morning eh!
I am tagging:
Cheers!
