Photo Hunters - This Week's Theme: Art

I am a huge collector of masks! I particularly love the African, and South American variety. The above series of shots were taken in a fab South American shop, and the mask pictured centre is absolutely gorgeous in my opinion. I would have purchased it right then and there, but it was a bit out of my price range.

What an interesting and great collection. We have one mask at home which came from Venice. It was given to us by a family friend who went there on a vacation.

Those sure aren't your typical American masks... I imagine it can take some time to afford to purchase any, especially the one you had your eye on! Nice choice for the hunt.

Beautiful! But I'm not sure I could have that in my house. When I first saw that center mask it took my breath away---in a "oh, that's creepy" kinda way. Looking at it longer, I could admire the beauty of it, but if it was in my house, I'm sure it'd startle me everytime I saw it.

I'm with Karen on this one - I'd wake up in the middle of the night to get a drink of water and give myself a heart attack, lol.

But they are fascinating - slipping on a mask, donning a different persona.

Congrats on site of the day!
