This past week all three of the kids had the opportunity to demonstrate that they knew the difference between being selfless over the holidays as opposed to selfish.
It is unfortunate that it was due to the actions of a former sister-in-law (who is truly a very selfish person that managed to make many people within her own family feel horrible this year) that they (my kids) were able to recognise, and demonstrate that they clearly understood the true spirit of the season.
It makes me sick at heart how many people celebrate Christmas for its commercial aspects only (like Aunt Selfish) and have no clue or care to discover the true joy of this festive time.
I won't go into details (this is a blessing after all) but I will say it is heart warming to know that even the youngest gets it, despite the umpteen requests for an iPod or the "I'm on the phone" and therefore too busy to decorate the tree this year ... ![]()
