Regulars at My Life In The Urban Zoo already know how much I love our Sweet Sam pictured above, and Sunny as seen below. They have along with their gender confused (long story) brother Stella, have brought much joy to our lives over the years.

However, birds are definitely not for everyone. They do require work, and a bit of out-of-pocket expense including cleaning up their cages regularly, insuring that they are fed a good, and nutritionally sound diet, that they have toys to play with, treats, a place to bathe, clean perches, time for exercise outside of their cages etc.

Speaking of homes for one's bird YCA Cages are something you might definitely want to have a look at before you add a bird or birds into your family. If you decide to go with Budgies, which I highly recommend for first-time bird owners because they are so hardy, and intelligent, you must also realise they could potentially live up to 15 years of age.

Therefore a good quality, sturdy cage, the appropriate size for your bird/s is a must. More is the better if the cage fits in with your home décor in my humble opinion.

We have an Aviary Style Cage like the one they currently have marked down on clearance (its on the main page) and suits our purposes well (along with keeping the cats out!) I am considering eventually upgrading to something similar as far as functionality goes, but a bit more stylish like the Victorian look (also can be seen at the site).

There are lots of different style to choose from, for all different types of birds at very reasonable prices in my own opinion. And they take PayPal.
